EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT: IDEAS, DRAFTS & LOOPS

In IDEAS, DRAFTS & LOOPS Travis presents a selection of old and new works that have never been seen by the public before. Concepts range from the crushing spirals of buildings Travis experienced during his first visit to the city to the dark gods and flames of lust of his more recent major exhibitions as well as his ponderings on life, death and love since the passing of his Dutch born Grandfather. The exhibition will present work in a range of mediums including: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, audio and literary forms.

IDEAS, DRAFTS & LOOPS will also include the collaborative new work LOST TALES: GODTHINGS created alongside photographer Teresa Tan. GODTHINGS is the experimental new collection of sculpture; costumes and photography bringing to life the gods, creatures, demons and shamans from the literary world that Travis has been developing over the last five years in the literary Mythopoiec Universe (or Traviverse).

“Along with the GODTHING pieces this is an opportunity for me to revisit ideas that I hadn’t looked at for years, with a practised and fresh set of eyes I’m able to redevelop works that I had touched upon during my early days that for whatever reason didn’t make it to their final stage, now I’m able to use my knowledge to bring them to an audience”.
