The First Aboriginal NFT

Tear it Down (Cook Falling) the digital artwork that I created in 2019 is now the first Aboriginal NFT, the first Gamilaroi NFT.

The artwork was minted on the Kalamint platform using Tezos blockchain technology and has been listed for the price of 1770 Tezos (tez) coins to coincide with the date that colonist historians claim the continent currently known as Australia was discovered by British explorer James Cook. The amount currently equates to about 10,500 AUD.

The digital artwork is aimed towards serious collectors and public collections offering them the chance to make history by purchasing the first Gamilaroi Non Fungible Token to ever be made. This is definitely important, when we live in a world where so much of our cultural heritage has been stolen, destroyed or misused and sold in gift shops, being able to control the means of production and the royalty system through the NFT process is a coup for all Aboriginal people.

This is a way to further ensure the continuation of my culture and artwork in the virtual space.

You can view and purchase the token at Cook Falling (Tear it Down) NFT Travis will receive 30% royalty for any future resales of the token.
