Splintered Realm is part of a series called Tiny Abstracts. In Splintered Realm we see an experiment of pure colour, shape, form and composition. Within these experiments I am able to find a more pure beauty in the colour and the shapes that I create, bringing a sense of the joy I find when working in the studio. I utilise am oil paint and medium washing technique with multiple layers, working back into the layers before the earlier are dry. This gives a sense of urgency to the work as well as creating a unique effect like clouds forming storms or lighting flashes.
